I’m still tired. And I started at the other (lost) corner of old D.C. (aka East Falls Church, Arlington) so add another ten miles from there and another ten miles back to there for my ride (50 + 10 + 10 = 70 miles). But it’s not the distance that does you, it’s the hills, as learned during pant breaks Saturday; the capital’s site was chosen partly due to its “defensibility” (high ground), said one WABRAD participant.
Lesson learned: Southeast D.C. is not for the faint of heart or for anyone on a fixie.
