Five reasons to avoid iPhone 3G

The Free Software Foundation (FSF) is slamming the newest iPhone:

A snake oil salesman not satisfied with his business of pushing proprietary software and Digital Restrictions Management (DRM) technology into your home, [Apple CEO Steve] Jobs has set his sights on getting DRM and proprietary software into your pocket as well.

Them’s fightin’ words. Now we stand on our lunch table to see which scrawny geek is being pushed into the wall?

I’ve got little interest in getting an iPhone and generally like everything the FSF is about (besides that bit about software requiring arcane configuration and not just working). But they even admit their freedom phone, the Neo FreeRunner, isn’t sexy.

Not sexy does not hearts and minds win.
